Looking to add some seriously delicious spice to your meal? @sijangeats has you covered! They sent us some to try recently, and I’ve been on a kick with it.
It’s smoky, garlicky, crunchy, and VERY spicy 🥵. The heat isn’t too bad at first, but it builds quickly, so be careful with it—especially around young eaters.
We’ve tried it on a variety of foods so far. Here are our thoughts from each one:
- 🍱 Sushi: 7.0/10 - This was the first thing we tried it on. It was good, but not spectacular. I think the flavors from the chili crunch just conflicted with the flavors of the sushi.
- 🥟 Potstickers: 7.7/10 - This was a huge step up from the sushi. The flavors worked really well together. Definitely recommend.
- 🍗 Rotisserie Chicken: 8.8/10 - Sounds random, I know, but this was SO fire. I smothered a drumstick in the chili crunch just for fun to see what it would taste like, and it was a wonderful, heat-packed delight. You gotta try this!
- 🥑 Avocado Toast w/ Egg: 8.5/10 - This is a classic pairing for a reason. All the flavors and textures mend together beautifully. How could you get chili crunch and not try it on avocado toast at least once?
There are still LOTS of food I want to try this on—pizza, ramen, tacos, tortilla chips, rice-based dishes…..the list goes on and on.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend buying a jar of @sijangeats chili crunch and trying it on all your favorite foods. Best of all, they’re a Richmond-based company, so you’re supporting a local business when you buy!
